Welcome to The Revision Wizard ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of our websites (including our landing site and our application site) and our mobile applications (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Definitions
"Service" — the learning games, websites and mobile applications operated by The Revision Wizard.
"App" — our mobile applications for iOS and Android, where available.
"Admin User" — a person who subscribes to the Service and manages child user accounts.
"Child User" — a user account created by an Admin User for a child to access the learning games.
"Group" — the set of Child Users managed under a single Admin User (schools, tutors and individual families). "Class"/"School" may appear internally; these mean the same thing.
"Subscription" — paid access to the Service, purchased through Stripe or, in the App, through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
3. User Accounts and Registration
Admin Users must be at least 18 years old to register and subscribe.
Child User accounts can only be created and managed by an Admin User, who confirms they have authority (as parent, guardian or educator) to do so.
You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account and the accounts you manage.
We may suspend or terminate accounts where misuse is detected.
4. Subscriptions and Payment
The Service operates on a subscription basis. Fees, billing cycles and any free-trial terms are shown before you complete your purchase.
Web purchases are processed by Stripe. Purchases made within the App may be processed by Apple or Google through their in-app purchase systems and are also subject to their terms.
First-time subscribers may be offered a 14-day free trial; returning customers may not be eligible. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid subscription automatically.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time — for web subscriptions via the customer portal, and for App subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
Where a purchase is made through Apple or Google, refunds are handled under their respective policies.
Except where required by law or stated in section 5, fees already paid are non-refundable and cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for the remainder of a paid period.
5. Your Statutory Cancellation Rights
If you are a consumer in the UK, you normally have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Because the Service is digital content supplied immediately, by starting to use the Service (or by beginning a subscription that gives immediate access) you agree to immediate performance and acknowledge that you may lose this 14-day cancellation right once access begins. Nothing in these Terms affects your non-excludable statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
6. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Service for any unlawful or prohibited purpose.
You must not interfere with or attempt to compromise the functionality or security of the Service.
You must not access, or attempt to access, another user's account without permission.
7. Usernames, Sharing and Leaderboards
Child Users are identified by a username chosen by the Admin User. Please avoid using a child's full real name; a first name, nickname or made-up name is recommended.
The Service may allow Admin Users to connect Groups using share codes so that Child Users can appear on shared leaderboards across Groups. Where this feature is used, a Child User's username and progress statistics may be visible to other connected Groups.
Admin Users control whether to create, share, accept or block these connections, and can revoke them at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how this data is handled.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, including games, graphics, characters and software, is owned by The Revision Wizard or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data. Please read it carefully; by using the Service you acknowledge our data practices as described there.
10. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service, including Stripe (payments), Auth0 (authentication), Cloudflare (hosting, security and database), Brevo (transactional and marketing email), Mailchimp (newsletter sign-up), Google (reCAPTCHA and analytics) and, for the App, the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces the Service you have paid for, we will give reasonable notice where practicable.
13. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law (including your non-excludable rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
Subject to the above, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the Service in the six months before the claim arose.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future renewals; see sections 4 and 5 regarding refunds and statutory rights.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Invite Code Access Accounts
We may offer access via invite codes. We reserve the right to modify, restrict or withdraw invite-code access at any time, and will provide reasonable notice in advance of any material change where practicable.
18. Prizes and Promotions
Any prizes, badges or promotions offered to players are at our discretion and may be modified or withdrawn at any time without prior notice, except where we have published specific promotion terms. Where a promotion has its own terms and entry deadline, those terms apply to that promotion. Promotions are hosted by The Revision Wizard and, unless stated otherwise, are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by any social media platform.
19. Contact Us
The Revision Wizard is a service operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions about these Terms, contact us at [email protected].
